Rooted in Texas. Raised the Right Way.
We raise premium Waygu beef by breeding our two Akaushi (Waygu) bulls, Mitsu and Miyagi, with Hereford and Angus cattle.
At Crooked Creek Ranch in Jefferson, Texas, our herd is pasture-raised with a focus on patience, care, and respect for both the animals and the land—bringing quality beef straight from our ranch to your table.
We believe exceptional beef starts long before the steak ever reaches the grill. It begins with genetics, stewardship, and a commitment to doing things the right way, even when it takes more time.
Tasting the Difference
Our steers begin the finishing phase at around 24 months of age, when they are moved to our finishing pasture for the final 7–9 months. During this time, they enjoy a balanced five-grain blend alongside free-range grazing on 5 acres, quality hay, and access to fresh water.
We never use added hormones in any of our cattle, and no antibiotics are used during the feeding program.
This thoughtful feeding program helps develop the rich marbling, tenderness, and exceptional flavor Crooked Creek Akaushi is known for.
Family-Raised, Family-Fed
Crooked Creek Ranch is a family-run operation, and everything we do starts with the same question we ask at our own table: Is this food we would proudly feed our family?
Our ranch isn’t a facility—it’s part of our home and our daily life. The care we give our cattle reflects the responsibility we feel as parents, neighbors, and stewards of the land. We raise our animals with patience, respect, and intention, knowing that the choices we make directly shape the food we share with our community.
When you visit the ranch, you’re not meeting a brand—you’re meeting a family. And when you bring our beef home, you’re feeding yours with the same standards we hold for our own.
